Canadian Navigation Options

hi, I have a Telus HTC Diamond, and I am looking for navigation options for use in Canada (and the US).

Google Maps - I currently have/use Google Maps, but it does not update when you deviate from the route.

Live Search - appears to not work in Canada.

tomtom/copilot - I cannot confirm they work with the diamond in Canada. I know you can get Europe maps, but I need Canadian

garmin xt - seems like my only option.

I know telus has a navigation system, but I prefer a one time cost, as opposed to monthly fees

any advice is appreciated

Tomtom7 and iGo 8 (mionav) both work perfectly on this device and have Canadian Maps. (I'm in Alberta)

iGo 8 can be purchased along with maps, Tomtom7 is warez only..

ditto. I use TomTom7 with the north american maps that include Canada. I just wish I could load Canada or Ontario only so the maps didn't eat 2GB of my internal memory.

TomTom offers a Canada & Alaska map. Its only about 400-500mb size, better than getting the North America map thats over 1.5gb.

TomTom.com has the map for sale at $59.99

Here is the link: http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/...guage=4&P=5478#

Actually it's only 148mb. That would free up some space!

Those are different than the North America map.

North America map is 1.8gb in size because it offers more detailed roads, 5 million more POI's and Hawaii & Puerto Rico.

US/Canada maps that are 800mbs are only for the lower 48 and Canada and have less POI's
