Camera Storing some Photos Sideways

Sometimes when I take photos with my Diamond, the camera stores them rotated 90 degrees. There's no consistency to this... sometimes it stores the photo correctly.

There doesn't appear to be a way to rotate the image in the camera.

Is anyone else having this problem and is there a fix - or at least a way to rotate the photo before I email or upload it somewhere?

thanks

Re: Camera Storing some Photos Sideways

Don't laugh Jug. I have seen this happen too. I have taken photos in landscape view, then later, when I look at them in landscape view through the Album function, they have been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. If you view the photo with the phone upright (Portrait), the photo appears as though it was taken in Portrait View; in other words, rotated 90 degrees from the view in which it was taken. When this happens, I view the photo file in Resco Explorer, which has a photo viewer app that allows you to permanently change the rotation and I rotate it back to where it should have been.

Re: Camera Storing some Photos Sideways

Jug, rotating doesn't help. Regardless of which orientation I'm holding the phone it, the photo is displayed in the other orientation.

Cappy, Thanks, I'll look around for Resco Explorer so I can at least rotate them before emailing or uploading.

Would be nice to know why this sometimes happens, though

Re: Camera Storing some Photos Sideways

I noticed the same issue the other day. Its very annoying if you ask me. Only happens on probably 1 out of every 10 pictures I take or so. I tried different methods, but it just happens. I think its just a bug in TF3D, not the camera.

Stock. I think that there was a thread on this a while back, but I did not pay much attention to it because it had not happened to me yet.

nyc, Resco Explorer is not free, but it is worth having. I purchased it at Pocketgear, along with Memmaid and SPB Backup. If you go that route, search Google for Pocketgear discounts. I found 3 and they were stackable, so I ended up getting 40+% off on the order last week.

Re: Camera Storing some Photos Sideways

My Sprint Diamond (stock ROM) does this random rotation too. No need to buy anything to fix the rotation. The Pictures and Videos program (found in your programs list) can be used to permanently rotate pictures. Just open a picture with it and then select Menu and then Edit. The option to rotate should be on the bottom left.
