Vibrate only function?

Is it possible?

I hated the phone vibrating with every little thing so I turned vibrate off n the sound settings. But now when I turn the ringer off, it still doesnt vibrate. Is there a way to just have vibrate come on when the ringer is off? I've looked everywhere, otherwise I will have to turn on vibrate where it will be vibrating for everything including keypresses which I hate...

Anyone know?

I believe that the what you are looking for is - to turn on the vibrate feature - then use the audio rockers and lower the volume down until it changes from ring to Vibrate - this is what I do and it just vibrates for new emails and phone calls...I think it does SMS/MMS messages as well.

Re: Vibrate only function?

yes, just turn the volume down...before it goes completely silent, you have the vibrate option (the icon with the slashes on the side is vibrate )

Re: Vibrate only function?

Wow, now I feel dopey! I am used to my old touch pro with the separate vibrate, or most phones having it automatically vibrate when you turn the ringer off.

Thanks guys!

ETA: I just tried it. If you turn off vibrate in the ringer settings, then you dont get the vibrate option at all. BUT when I turn it back on, then the phone vibrates with every keypress etc...which is what Iwas trying to avoid. =(
