does anyone know if there are plans to get VOIP actually working? I don't have to have it over the EVDO connection. I would be happy with getting it to work over the WiFi. I still haven't gotten it to work. I have followed the very limited amount of instructions from various sites (for other roms) and the consensus is that the problem is with the usage in this kitchen. I haven't heard of anyone getting it to work yet. So is that being worked on?

The version in the kitchen works fine. You just have to make sure your server settings are correct and that the option to turn it on actually sticks in "VoIP Setup". The setup app itself has issues.
If it's active you'll see your voip server name instead of your carrier in the dialer. |

SPB Plus 4.01 fixed (I was also unable to get smart scrolling to work EXCEPT it does work in PIE, which i find the most useful spot for it anyway)

Possible Bug
First off -- I have to say you guys rock, I would have thrown out my apache long ago if it wasn't for your hard work keeping the OS up to date & the apps a riot to use. I have been a lurker for a while, running many builds offered here & jumped on using WM6 when it first released from Helmi. The bug I keep seeing has been constant since the first WM6 release & I just dealt with it, but thought I should bring it up now.
I am running from the newest Kitchen (which is so easy even an idiot could compile with it..... sooooo nice) & compiled verizon specific. About every couple of weeks, when I soft reset, the phone goes back into the first learning screen & wont connect back to the network. It seems to require a hard reset, then resync with the PC, then all is well again for a week or so. Seems a bit odd...... I'll be happy to provide any details necessary to help fix this, just feel free to ask. I also noticed when compiling with too many programs selected in the home screen (Today Plugins), when the unit boots, it crashes (ie: HTC Home & some other plugin like O2) . PS: If we could figure out a way to load software from Vista 64, that would be great... so far I am using XP in VMware to flash the OS. You'll probably get a nicer GUI appearance as well as quicker build times if you just build the ROM in your host OS and then only use VMWare for flashing. The kitchen is 64bit compatible. Last edited by tiermann; 11-16-2007 at 07:48 PM. |

BuildOS should be fully compatible with Vista64. I wonder if you have .net issues on your PC.
As for the random hard resets, that doesn't sound like a ROM or software issue to me. It sounds hardware related. Have you tried returning to a WM5 ROM for a good amount of time to make sure you don't see the same behavior there? Edit: toooo slow. |

Hard Resets.....
I ran WM5 for quite a while on the hardware before moving to WM6. Both Helmi's builds & Verizon builds.... WM5 did not exhibit the same hard reset issue.
As for Vista 64, the problem comes with flashing, I can build fine, just not flash from vista. Last edited by jasonkemm; 11-16-2007 at 08:30 PM. |
