Answer myself: i cooked a new rom without htc today, and i'ts resolved this issue

Another bug: this time with verizon radio 1.43, drains quickly the battery, and the calls are sluggish (signal issue), answer: downgrade to all-carriers 1.41 and resolved both!

I haven't tried your OEM (probably will on my next build), but have you made sure the registry application keys for the smart scrolling are in your rgu? The location for these is HKLM>Software>Spb Software House>Pocket Plus>11 . The necessary keys and values for enabling smart scrolling for each app reside in the "11" folder (in fact, you can add smart scrolling support for other apps there). If those are missing, smart scrolling definitely won't work.

Ah hell, here's a cab. Unzip, copy to device, and install.

And just FYI I have never seen any objective measurement of battery savings with these reg entries--just a lot of anecdotal stuff (which is not to say there is no improvement, but until there's some hard factual evidence then take these as being experimental only).
thank you.........you're the man

I used to have tons of problems with chargers other than the one that came with the phone. I found out, after hours and hours of pulling out hair in front of Google, that there's a bug in some ROMs that caused this, and there's apparently only a hardware workaround.

Basically when you plug in the charger, the phone checks first to see if there's one of 1) a USB data connection as when you drop the phone into the cradle or plug it into a USB cable with a PC on the other end, or 2) two of the pins on the USB mini-connector are shorted together, meaning the cable is a charger, and not a data-connection.

In scenario 1, the ROM is *supposed* to test for a data connection, and then fall back to charge only, but this doesn't work properly all the time. As for scenario 2, almost no USB car chargers have these two pins connected, so they're not recognized by the 6700 as chargers, but rather they're treated as data cables, and because of bug #1, they don't charge.

So... After finding the fix for this, I posted it to my blog so I wouldn't forget how to find it. Hope it helps you:

http://www.jakesavin.com/2007/06/20#a620

The original solution was found here:

http://www.bestparking.eu/miniusb.html

It might seem like the above is a lot of trouble to go through to make the stupid charger work, but it's really not too difficult to do if you've ever used a soldering iron, and the risk you take is only that you'll mess up your charger and have to buy another for $15 or $20. We're *not* soldering on the phone here.

Cheers, -Jake

I don't think this is an issue with the ROM, but rather with QuickMenu... See below.

In the AKU 3.5 I was running previously, the left soft button would stay "Notification," allowing me to bring the bubble back up. Has anyone else experienced this? Most of the install is pretty standard, although I did not load Arcsoft MMS, since I don't need it. It does not happen when I get a new Outlook email.
I saw this with QuickMenu installed, and with its battery meter turned on. With the QuickMenu battery meter on, and the phone plugged in, QuickMenu tries to flash the battery meter to show it's charging. Apparently it does this using the notification icon at the top of the screen. When you also have another pending notification like for an appointment or SMS message, it alternates back and forth with every flash of the battery icon.

The easiest fix is to turn off the QuickMenu battery meter and optionally use another battery meter, but you could turn off or uninstall QuickMenu altogether. (Personally I'd go for the first solution, since I really like QuickMenu.)

There's a thread about this on the SPB Club (SPB's forum site), with specific information about what goes inside these reg keys:

Awesome way to setup my phone the way i like.

Having bug with OEMizer and HTC Home.
If I bulid and incldue a Personal OEMizer module. The HTC Home Plugin 2.0 doesn't show up in the today screen, and the other Today screen components show as icons rather than their content. The "Window Mobile" bitmap fails to appear also.

I noticed that HTC Home is not one of the items listed in the OEMizer page for the Today Screen. I've built my ROM with and agfain without include the the OEMizer Today module. Same problem. But I to leave OEMizer out of my ROM completley - HTC Home works fine.

HTH, -Jake
Yep. I figured out how to enable smart scrolling for Palm Threaded SMS and posted it there a while back. Really cool.
