[1/17/09] Blue ROM v1.9 FINAL NOW FOR TELUS, TOO!(CE OS 5.2.21109/Build 21109)

YOU MUST BE UNLOCKED TO USE THIS ROM!! If you're not sure what this means, you have no business flashing your phone! I am not responsible for any damage that you do to your phone. Please understand that, even if you follow all the directions, it is still possible to turn your phone into a very expensive paper weight! Be careful and beware! For more information, please read this:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062

BLUE ROM v1.9
Download Here:

Sprint: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Diamond/Users/...v1.9-FINAL.rar

Telus: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Diamond/Users/Glossman/ROMs/Blue-ROM-v1.9-FINAL-TELUS.rar

This is the FINAL release of BLUE ROM. Sprint and Telus versions are now available!

After much thought, I have decided to begin a new ROM project, hints of which you will find in BLUE ROM v1.9. This new ROM family will be based on my own SYS and modified OEMs (though it may still utilize Calkulin's kitchen). You can also look forward to a completely new and visually stunning interface. This will take some time, as I have much to learn to make this happen. I do look forward to working with many of you in achieving my goal.

Highlights of v1.9:
  • Based on Calkulin's latest 21109 Kitchen Props to Calcu for building the fastest Diamond base available
  • Telus version now available
  • Fixed ActiveSync Port Error
  • Blue Manila OEM updated to reduce items installed by UC
  • Taskbar Icon .dll update
  • Removed Remote Desktop
  • Removed 1-Calc Lite
  • Removed Sprint Music Store to allow for larger album art
This ROM features an attractive BLUE interface that you'll never get tired of looking at, and wraps it around a relatively lite and fast software package.

Both Sprint and Telus versions have been tested on a Sprint Diamond, and have been found to work with no issues.

Special thanks goes out to Calcu, Indagroove, Conflipper, Colonel, luv2chill, Old_Man_Jenkins, jmztaylor, ImCoKeMaN, 6700Yuma, DarkLord69, *and Cmonex, no2chem, Tobeychris, Ghettofreeryder, Juicy47, and Jugallo_X. Without whom, the kitchens wouldn't be what they are today, and you'd still have a locked phone.

Known Issue: The light blue bars (instead of green) encountered during the first boot setup screens are expected. This is part of a future UI redesign and is a work-in-progress.

Well, it doesn't have IE 6.

Free storage is about 71 MB.

The sys list you posted doesn't show IE at all, so is it there? BTW, you'll get better free memory if you build the Bule theme into the ROM, instead of cab installing on first boot.

I added PIE to the build notes. I assumed it was understood that, if IE6 isn't indicated, then PIE is installed. I've never seen a ROM without one of the two. But thanks for pointing it out.

As for the Vista Blue TF3D theme, I've had little luck in creating a working OEM for it using OEMizer. I'd love to build it in, but until I figure out what I'm doing wrong, I need to do it this way.

I periodically create new threads because I feel a lot of people don't like having to review 100 or more posts to find out about the ROM they're flashing. So, I start new ones.

You can have a rom w/o PIE if you want, and since you didn't initially list it (along with Office, Enterprise, etc) I assumed it was removed. In terms of sys, it's generally more informational, if you just let users know what was removed from the sys (since there's lots in there).

For your Manila OEM, don't use OEMizer for this, use Ervirus' package tool. OEMizer is good for some things, but a Manila Package is not one of them. Or, you coud prolly just replace the Manila files in a pre-made packge with yours, and cook away.

You're welcome.

I will definitely try the package tool. Now that I think about it, I think the other issue I was having was duplicate Manila files when I tried to use a pre-made package. I would get a hard stop from the kitchen during builds, and when I finally did finish, theme never did look right. I guess I'll need to download Beyond Compare and diff the folders out, once I've settled on how the final theme will look.

If you just drag your Manila Files in to a pre-made oem, it should overwrite all duplicates. It you are getting build errors, your should search your oem folders for redundancy. You don't need Beyond Compare, just use the standard windows search function, and make sure that you have "view hidden folders" option enabled on your computer.

If you wanna upload your Manila files, I can take a look..

I'll try doing the overwrite again, then reflash. If it doesn't come out right, I'll upload my guinea pig Manila OEM and the theme from which it came.

It's been a while since I tried playing with the theme OEM, and I know a lot more about it now than I did a couple of months ago when last messed with it.

Thanks for the offer, and I may take you up on it!
