Rumor has it that that message was a system default for pre-prefers that were placed really early on and haven't shipped yet. Some that have gotten that message have since had it change back to the original message of "we will try to get you a first glimpse" message.
My advice, which is going to be hard for me as well, is to try to distract yourself and just wait it out today and see what happens.

Checked this morning around 6.30am it said backorderered....
