Re: problem with pics and which backup?

I use google sync to back up my contacts and calendar but just manually back up my pics. I think a lot of people use windows my phone too. Both of those are free so you might want to give them a shot.
Not sure exactly what you mean in your second question. By numbers do you mean the SNC000001? If you mean that you see the number and not the picture then yes thats normal. For some reason you have to copy the pictures onto your computer in order to see the thumbnail and be able to open the pic. Hope that helps if not describe your issue with more detail and I'll take a shot at answering again.

PIMbackup will back it up to your sd card.
I use myphone for a off phone, off computer option.
true story,my sd card fragged and my daughter dled a virus onto the desktop in the same day. myphone had my info that was lost on card and desktop. i put pictures on an external hard drive and CDs

Re: problem with pics and which backup?

I leave all of my data on My Storage so I don't worry about backing up too much. Every so often I will move the pictures onto my PC into Dropbox for safe keeping, and the rest of the files can be easily dragged and dropped into a folder on the desktop. Email, contacts, calendar etc are synced with Google Sync (if you use Gmail). There are backup programs out there like SPB Backup but I don't see the point in paying $30 for something that I can easily do myself. My Phone and PIMBackup are also good free solutions but I only use the latter now.
