how do get your phone to show the network icons as 3G, E, H and G? And what is the difference in the icons too?

Those are GSM network icons. You wont see them on a CDMA phone, which is the network you are on with Sprint.

with the new 6.5.1 builds floating around when you touch the top bar a drop down with larger icons shows, but when I install any of the 6.5 icons cabs the bottom bar turns blank, anyone know of a way to just add the small icons without deleting the nice new big icons?

But im suppose to have 3g and it doesn't even show it. I remember before I unlocked it and start loading different rom, it use to show the 3g icon but not anymore.

You need to use the updated shellres.192.dll (for VGA anyway). If you're using 23049, I put m6silver's metal taskbar icons into the updated dll's from the new SYS. You can get it here. I couldn't get a cab to work (signing errors), but as long as you copy the files to /windows and have the correct registry entries (they are in app.reg of the package posted in linked thread), it will work fine. I may try to update 23053 since it looks like they added some icons to the shellres.dll.

edit - I've attached 23053 m6silver color taskbar EXT package. If you want to manually install it instead of cooking it in with visual kitchen, make sure you have the regedits that are in the app.reg file in your phone's registry and copy all the files in the 'files' folder to /windows on your device with total commander (overwrite the ones there). I just took m6silver's icons and put them in the new .dll's. All credit for the nice taskbar goes to him. You can see a pic of his taskbars here at XDA. The HTCVolumeControl.dll is not included since I do not cook it in anymore. I have attached it here if you're using a 23053 ROM with it cooked in.

I tried copying with total commander and imported the registry entry with resco. When soft reset i got the small icons, but the large were all gone actually I had no bottom bar, and the start menu didn't work. I hard reset twice to test, on JD's 23052 clean rom.

now this is what i wish we had for cdma 6.1 or 6.5 prefer 6.1 does anyone know if a taskbar like this thats for cdma..

Looks good, but i'm interested in battery indicator, not when it's charging.

If you used the attached 23053 package on the 23052 sys, I'm not surprised it messed things up for you. With the new MS builds, it seems like the icons have to be replaced in the new shellres for everything to work correctly. They add/change icons in the shellres and maybe other dll's with every build it seems like.
