So You Want a More Custom WM Lock?

I found this today when someone posted a link to it earlier and I was like "HOLY CRAP IT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!" and then tried it and it works! Basically it's a way to customize the lock screen so it locks when you want and gives you way more control over it instead of what is in our Settings menus.

(UPDATED 17-10) Auto Lock (CSDEVCTRL) - xda-developers

I just thought I would share my discovery. It's a little complicated to figure out at first but basically you want to make sure you set the hard lock. The way I have it configured is that when my device wakes up it locks the screen which is handy.

SmartLock is also a good way of enhancing the standard WM lock.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I would have thought SmartLock would support it's "suspend lock" verbiage which to me means "when you hit the power button to suspend the phone, it will lock when it wakes up" - but I've tried all checkboxes now to no avail of success.

Must I use CSDEVCTRL for that feature?

EDIT UPDATE: SmartLock DOES lock after startup, however it is necessary to reboot phone to get all functionality to work. Simple fix, but perhaps not an expected step. It seems the WM 6.5 lockscreen is a little laggy but I have found with WM you truly can't have the cake and eat it too; heck you usually only get teased by the cake and never "get it" (think Portal ending...)

The 25MB PP ROM I cooked up makes it pretty snappy actually. You can try downloading it if you want slm as I have the ROM in the upgrades section. And yeah you gotta reboot for it to work. (I cooked it in too! I think.)

Re: So You Want a More Custom WM Lock?

I have tried using PocketShield and it worked great, but it's an evaluation but I cannot come to accept $7+ for a lock application for a Windows Mobile phone...

So now I'm looking to figure out how I can get the default lockscreen to respond quickly after wakeup. When I wake my phone up and it is locked, I slide my finger over bar, it does nothing; I do it again, still nothing. Then the 3rd time after ~2 seconds (aka 2 tries) it works like it should sliding where my finger goes and unlocking the phone.

How can this be solved or is this impossible to fix?

Re: So You Want a More Custom WM Lock?

Does anybody know how/if we can tell the Windows Lockscreen to work RIGHT AWAY (without the 2 second or so delay before finger presses work)?

This one thing would be awesome to have as it is very annoying to have to wait 2 seconds after wakeup to actually slide for unlock...

Thanks!

Slm

Talking Re: So You Want a More Custom WM Lock?

i LOVE the WM lock however its stuck to the security lock which i have on an hr of inactivity. i found a new S2U2 for roms an its an upgrade from the 6.1. when u recieve texts, you can view them in a lil bubble.. same as email. fully customizable an such. i freakin love it. what can be viewed on the screen: weather, text, email, time date day upcoming appointments(up to 21 in advance, an i think 7 appoinments at a time) and tasks. also if you click on a text for ex. the s2u2 changes its setting to accomadate. so u wud s2u2 to the text straight away... its badness if i eveer did see it. hope that helps
