Pioneer 7900bt cd receiver
I've been searching for a solution to stream mp3's and handle phone functions over bluetooth. Since I've always preferred Alpine products for car audio installations I hoped to buy an add-on module for my current 9857. There were no bt adapters in stock for Alpine but I noticed this Pioneer 7900bt.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...833974,00.html This headunit is great! Simple and easy to use yet includes tons of features/settings/modes. Right off the bat I appreciated the very readable blue eol display. Navigating through menus is fairly simple using the jog dial button. Connecting with my Mogul created two profiles within the Pioneer: one for BT audio and the second for Telephone functions. It can store like 600 contact entries and you can sync them over to the radio! That enables 10 speed dial numbers and viewing of the call history/phone book. There are several pre-set eq curves to use and you can also customize and save a few. Sound is powerful and crisp with tons of adjustability. Bt streaming exceeded my expectations for sound quality. Phone functions work flawlessly. Callers report no distortion or background noise and have no trouble hearing me speak at a normal volume. A wired mic is included for choice placement. The problem I ran into was getting my contacts to sync. There's no option within WM to send your contacts (phonebook) via BT to another source. You initiate transfer from within the Pioneer then complete the process from your device. After some searching I found this thread: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.p...r=asc&start=30 Which included a link for this software: http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm After installation to Mogul and a SR my contacts sync'd to the Pioneer and everything works beautifully! I highly recommend this Pioneer headunit. |
