Re: NEW VERSION...3 November 2009 S2U2 v2.10 - battery

I can confirm that using S2U2 on the Sprint Touch Pro2 does eat up more battery. I compared several 10 minutes runs w/ the screen off via power button for the S2U2 versus Pocket Shield, and I used acbPowerMeter to keep track the battery drain.

On average, with the screen off, S2U2 uses between 120-150mA, while PocketShield uses 70-86mA.

For S2U2, this is without changing wallpapers and without weather, so that S2U2 is only looking out for text, mms, and email notifications.

After running it for a day I can say that there is still a battery drain, but not as bad as v2.04. With 2.04 I was losing about 5% per hour. I've had some inconsistent results with 2.10 though. The first four hours I used it I had 0 battery drain. After that it varied. But it seems like it's only draining a little over 2% an hour now. About 7% every 3 hours.

Same here,

I really like S2U2 much more than pocketshield but for the battery drain it's a no go.

Re: NEW VERSION...(9 November 2009) S2U2 v2.12 - battery

I wish I had a definitive answer, but I am on the Omnia, and don't have a battery issue. I know Saurman (sp) in here has reported over @ XDA about good battery life on his Touch Pro 2, but that is about all I have heard/seen so far (and that was with version 2.10).

Re: NEW VERSION...(9 November 2009) S2U2 v2.12 - battery

I tried 2.12 yesterday, it was making my phone run hot and killing my battery big time. Today I went back to 2.10 and its working fine on the Sprint TP2.
