Cool Media remote control

I tried searching but couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. If someone could help me find it that would be awesome. If it even exists I am looking for a program to control windows media center or at least media player. Preferably I would like it to work through WIFI but if not possible maybe blue tooth. Also, I haven't seen anything close but if there is a remote control program for the xbox 360 as well that would be extra awesome.

Basically I would like to be able to control my media by remote so I can be lazy and don’t have to go to the computer or xbox to change it.

Re: Media remote control

Maybe you can use Remote Desktop? I don't think they have integrated WM with Windows or XBox or Zune that much yet but plan to in the future (especially with WM 7).

This is pretty sweet software, but can take a little know-how to get it to work via the Internet connection on ur phone... Definitely works through wifi, though.

Re: Media remote control

I am just looking forward to the day when some manufacturer realizes that if they just slap an IrDA transmitter in the phone and release a remote control app they won't be able to keep them in stock.

Re: Media remote control

Wait does your phone have infrared? I think the old 6700s have a powerful enough infrared or even the 6800s that they could be used as a remote control for a TV.

I've used this software to use some media programs on my PC. It's free and works well, will only work bluetooth connection.....

Re: Media remote control

I cant believe no one has mentioned MobileSRC Mobile Remote. Its amazing software. Turns your phone into a bluetooth keyboard, mouse AND media remote all in one program. I use it all the time. Works with winamp, windos media player, media player classic, VLC, pretty much every media program. I can test to see if it works with media center as well, I am sure it will.

Re: Media remote control

muyoso, if you could test that would be great.

Has anyone used the sideshow addins to control it? Considering it is a M$ program it would seem like it would work well but it is only bluetooth and I haven't been able to find many reviews of how well it works.

Re: Media remote control

Yea, it works absolutely flawlessly. Full volume control, pause and play, rewind and fast-forward on videos. It really is an amazing program. And in the same program you get a keyboard and a mouse, so you can pretty much fully control your computer without having to get up.

You launch the program, it automatically connects to your computer, then it gives you 6 tabs across the bottom.

Media control tab
Touch screen mouse tab
G-Sensor mouse tab (neat as hell but not very useable)
Full Keyboard tab with windows key
Bluetooth tab to change the connection or to connect to a different computer
Settings tab
