What makes coreplayer the prefered media player?

Im new to WM so I was wondering why so many people pay $30 to get coreplayer vs using media player or album. I have read that it give you stats like percent speed but other than the stats is the playback performance better then windows media or album? Does coreplayer support more file types? I was think about getting it but was wondering why people like it so much?

Re: What makes coreplayer the prefered media player?

All of the above.

Coreplayer is the final product version of TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player), which was the best player available for Windows Mobile. It supported lots of file types, had tons of settings, and streamed files very well.

Coreplayer is just the final version of it.

Re: What makes coreplayer the prefered media player?

If you convert your files to .MP4's, its better to use HTC Album or WMP. But if you want to use DivX or XVid, it's better to use Coreplayer.

I agree.

I rip DVD movies to h.264 files & get absolutely perfect playback from WMP or album (or my ipod touch). I still like the features of CorePlayer better of course, but since it has no hardware support it can't match the playback of album or WMP.

Thats one of the reasons I wanted to try core player. I have been using cucusoft to rip h.264 movies and they play like crap on album and WMP. Most parts are smooth but them I get periods of heavy stutter. mp4s play much better but its not super smooth. I can still notice a little bit of stutter. I just want a player that plays any format smooth.

What program(s) do you use to rip your DVD's to h.264?

And do you have a link to the HTC Player referred to in this thread?

Thanks!
