Removing applicaions from HTC Touch Pro

I am new to this site and not sure if I am posting in the right area. I have put too many applications on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro and now it is not working correctly. I have several shells (SPB, Winterface and WisBar) and wnat to try to remove two of them and keep the SPB, but when I try to remove them, I can't because I get an error message that they are in use.

If I have to have eveything reset, will I loose all my contacts and pictures?

I hope someone can help me....please!

Re: Removing applicaions from HTC Touch Pro

Ok, what you need to do is go stop the running tasks in the task manager by going to "Start>Settings>System>Task Manager" and turning off Winterface or Wisbar, then uninstalling. If that method doesn't work, you need to use a better task manager than the stock one such as the one here

Re: Removing applicaions from HTC Touch Pro

In addition to the task manager, make sure the application is "disabled" if there is such a setting within its setup. As for deleting applications, the default file manager sometimes looses the file list of installed applications. To work around that I use MemMaid; SKTools also provides much of the same functionality.

Re: Removing applicaions from HTC Touch Pro

I might be a little late but you could also try backing up your contacts and messages with PIM Backup and save all you pictures or important documents to your storage card before you do a hard reset.
Me personally i dont like to remove programs lol if I want to delete something I just do a hard reset... I think they're fun.
