Viewing PIMBackup files...

So I know there have been several references to this in several threads, and one person started a thread which unfortunately did not get any responses:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=57758

but does anyone know of a way to open these files in a usable way?

First of all, I don't believe we should try to open the .PIM files directly. I opened the file with WinRAR to discover a .PBM file. Assuming there were no more levels of compression in this Matryoshka Doll of a file, I searched for programs that would open/convert them. I found and tried these to no avail:

http://www.contenta-images2pdf.com/e...=&service=open

http://www.verypdf.com/tif2pdf/tif2pdf.htm

http://www.ivanview.com/ivan-image-converter.html

So does anyone have any other ideas?

Re: Viewing PIMBackup files...

You can open them with notepad to view the data, I don't know that you could really edit them unless you understand the syntax in which they are written.

You mean on the computer itself? Where is this utility? I can't find it on SPB's website...
