I don't know about weather. I know there have been solutions for battery icons and a few other goodies in the xda forum. Do a search over there and you'll probably get your answer.

iphonetoday is still a work in progress the progress has been very rapid. The author is very good about implementing new ideas and putting out new versions quickly. Version 1.25 is alot more polished from the versions say a month ago.
