Interested in overclocking

First off I use a T-Mobile MDA. In the search for trying to find a WM6 upgrade for it (un-successful as of right now) I have been reading about overclocking my device. Could anyone briefly explain the details of this or possibly post a good link for me to review? What exactly does it do? Purpose? The best software for my device?

Thanks!

Yea I was over on howardforums posting about that and was given that same link. To be honest I am a little lost on there and not sure what exactly I am looking for. Pretty much a n00b to all of this haha. I have my MDA, put ring tones on it, and do a couple things here and there but thats the extent of it and looking to dig a little deeper.

That sounds like an awesome IDea, get a lil more speed out of it. I am also a noob at all of this, but I have picked up pretty quickly with all the apps and plugins, it really unleashes the capabilities of of Mogul. I have only started doing some stuff on mine and I love it 100 times more than when I bought it.

If anyone has answer on it lmk.

Well after quite a few hours of sweating and worrying my MDA is now equipped with WM6 and BatteryStatus.

I read a recommended cap on the overclocking speed and can't remember if it was 240 or 260. I am at 234 right now just to be safe.

260?? Thats slower than most processors original speed, I have mine between 312-520 all the time, it shifts when the processor needs more juice. I can't believe yours is even moving at 234...

Had you tried Xcpuscalar? The program itself is simple/easy to use.

i used that with my 6700, have'nt used it much with the 700wx, but it did increase speed, on the other hand it ate up the battery faster. keep that in mind with overclocking=more battery drain

Yea its a noticeable difference. WM6 is pretty watered down with useless garbage that I need to go in a delete haha.

Battery life seems just a little worse with overclocking but nothing too bad
