Change Default Task Settings?

Is there a way to change the default task settings for a quick task? Specifically, I’d like the due date to default to “today” like it does in Outlook.

I’m using WM6.5, but I imagine the solution may be more widely applicable.

It is easy to set an automatic reminder, but not an automatic task due date. Any ideas?
