Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

Uh Let me know when this app has been developed more. I put the Wifi connection to computer to computer for adhoc. it simply doesn't work for the Mogul. I am using a Wifirouter with more features without a hitch. This was a complete waste of time for me...

Works great on my TP groove6.5 and HP dv2700. Phone heats up after a short while. I like! free is free, I never really used wmwifirouter, always btpan or IS, but for a quick session, i will definitely use this. thx for posting

It should get more development, but this works for most people without a hitch. It worked for me first try and hasnt stopped.

All I had to do was name the router and set a WEP on the phone, made sure internet connection said DATA and pressssed start. It ran and said ready to accept connections, I went to my computer disconnected from my home internet, refreshed wireless networks, it found my Diamond named "Diamond" i entered my WEP on my laptop and connected. Running Vista on laptop and MightyROM 4 on Diamond.

So far it has only one flaw, it turns off with the screen.

actually the flaw is the process you described above. and having to repeat process all the time

the other is a feature of power management
Code:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Suspend\{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\Default
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Resuming\{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\Default
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Unattended\{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\Default

just change the default value to 1,
Reset the phone
all network adapters will no longer 'sleep' and therefore also always be on, plan your power accordingly. (includes Wifi, Evdo/1x, need confirmation on bluetooth and gprs)

don't forget to manually switch_off your WiFi ...
otherwise it will drain your battery.

not sure why you have to repeat that process... I did it once, now all i do is click the app and it runs automatically.

When you click the app scroll down, there is a box that says "use these settings........" check that

also, thanks for the reg tweaks. Worked perfectly!

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

well, a couple of things and it could just be the nature of adHoc.
say I have my pc and laptop both connected to the phone via wifi. then I turn off wifi router. when I turn it back on sometimes I have to repair my connection on pc/laptop, or disable then re-enable the wifi, sometimes I have to do this 1pc @ a time.
(keep in mind both have internal wificards without a easy switch.)

also I've noticed that if the battery dies and the phone reboots, it turns the wifi back on, so you have to manually turn it back off before you start the router.

Does this app only make an ad-hoc network?
If so this won't help with devices that don't work in ad-hoc mode, like my Zune...

Not working for me either, running stock sprint rom on TP. First, can't get it to scroll at all, so don't know if I have the remainder of the settings correct.

Second, it doesn't seem to start wifi by itself. Tried to start wifi manually before running program but still cannot get it to show up on list of wreless networks available.
