Hello,
Just installed the AL_CommManager_Suite_with_WifiSharing_1_1.CAB onto the Sprint WM6.5 TP2. When setting up connections, under Log to Server / Network Log On, it is asking me for username and password. I called *2, Sprint's customer service rep, and I was told by two different people that first of all, the phone cannot be used as a modem. Secondly, the username and password is moot, she says, because it cannot be used anyway.

How did you all from Sprint do it? is there a reg-edit that needs to be done?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Basically, by calling sprint and telling then what you were doing, you were basically telling them that you are trying to tether without paying them for it. Of course they won't help and tell you anything. Your straight out telling you trying to go around them and not pay for it. I'd expect that there's a good chance that they are monitoring your account data usage now.

Last time I looked you don't need a username or password. I haven't tried this program my self yet, but others are reporting that the TP2 doesn't work with this and can cause problems. That's why I haven't installed it yet.

If you really want to try it though, I'd suggest getting a good backup program and using it before any mod like this. That way you can back out of it if you need to. Saved my bacon more than once.

The only reason I can think of is if it is a protected network. Don't they typically ask for name and password?

does this app automatically broadcast the SSID or is hidden without options to broadcast it?

I tried to instal this and it said that I don't have privileges. can I get the privilege cab? thxs in running stock wm6.5 sprint

Ignore the Comm Manager software in the post. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the file. Pick the empty slot in your Comm Manager (I chose 7). Transfer it to your SD card, click on the .cab file, and install it to your device (not the card).
