6.1 vs 6.5

It's kinda hard to search for such a subject since it doesn't meet the minimum search requirements.

Very simple question. Is there an advantage other than Titanium in moving from 6.1 to 6.5? That is, is the 6.5 core overall better? Does it run better? More efficiently, etc? What are the major improvements over 6.1?

Thanks in advance!

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5

This is probably not the right forum for this, but one of the main advantages (at least to me) is that 6.5 is more finger friendly then 6.1 is.

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5

I've noticed that and agree completely. From a developer point of view, does it seem to run better?

Hopefully someone will move this to the appropriate place. Wasn't really sure where to stick it.

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5

6.1 is going to be the better core since it has been released and used on many phones. 6.5 still has bugs that need to be fixed and will be once official 6.5 roms start to come out. I like the functionality of titanium better than TF3D and the new start menu design being finger friendly doesn't require use of the stylus for those with big fingers. The best thing you can do to get your questions answered completely though is flash a 6.5 rom and try it out. We can tell you everything about it but you need to actual experience to make the decision of what system to run.

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5

Cool man. I'm running it now and will continue to play with it. Thanks for the advice.

Sorry if I gummed up the forum with an off-topic post.

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5

All I know is, that since going to WM 6.5 I have not looked back. For a device like the Touch Pro I've found the scrolling and menues in WM 6.5 to be far more touch friendly. For the ROMs I've used I've found WM 6.5 to be as stable as WM 6.1 if not more.

The only disadvantage to WM 6.5 for me, is that some software does not work well with it, given some software was not written for WM 6.5. But with the new release of Pocket e-Sword working well with WM 6.5 I'm all good.

I would agree except for the retarded start menu. That menu may be fine for people that don't install anything to their phone, but if you load it up like I do it totally blows.

Luckily, there is "quick menu" available to get around that. If that option wasn't available, I would have had to go back to 6.1.

It's amazing.
You can design your own today screen, start menu, lock screen, etc very very easily. If you've ever done somewhat advanced html/css,
you should be able to read through the files and figure everything out.

6.5 is amazing.
But I agree, flash it, and test it out.
Whats the worst that could happen, you answer your questions and then flash back???

Edit: I forgot to add this, I'm pretty dang sure these are official builds we're seeing. From what I was reading a bunch of places the 25XXX builds were the verrrrry first official release, and they released like 5 more builds right after that, it seemed like almost daily or every other day. I'm pretty sure it was due to the feedback program that they have giving them feedback on all of the bugs. Not sure on the last sentence, but these are the official builds.

oh mannn. 6.1 is just soooo. blahhhhh.
and painful.
I'd honestly hold out for the TP2 over the snap.

Yeah, I honestly only ran into one software being a problem, and that was pandora. Pandora sucks anyways, so I didn't really care.
I use last.fm
It's wayyyyyyyyyyyy better.
