I also didn't like the WM 6.5 start menu at first, until I noticed how you can hold your finger over an icon and select the "Move to Top" option. So I can fully arrange icons to my liking. When I press the start menu, I've got 16 programs on the top, which is way more than the 7 or so in WM 6.1's initial start menu. |

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5
I find 6.5 runs too slow for me - especially when writing an SMS. The KB seems un-responsive at times (for me), and the thing hangs when I try to close out of text messages, on numerous ROMS.
I do, however, love how finger friendly it is, and when I finally get a phone built for it, I'm going to enjoy running Titanium over TF3D, because it's just so pretty. |

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5
I've found the built in soft qwerty keyboard is sluggish on some 6.5 ROMs, not all. Last time I used StarROM the built in soft keyboard ran smoothly and quickly. But I prefer SPB Keyboard and it runs quickly on every WM 6.5 ROM I've tried.

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5
I installed 6.5 and played with it for a while, but as JMORTON10 said, the start menu is retarded. Everything is together. I have a lot of apps and it's a pain scroling until you get hat you want. I went back to 6.1. For me is better

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5
ehhh....the only reason why 6.5 is such a big thing is finger friendliness, if it wasnt for that, I would bet few people would be using it....although CHome did make a big hit for some reason even though M2D and M3D are much better IMO

Re: 6.1 vs 6.5
WM 6.5 also supports a newer release of Flash, along with some nice IE browser upgrades. WM was really in bad need of a makeover too. And for devices that don't have something like TF3D, the Titanium interface is good to have. Even some folks with TF3D prefer Titanium. And all sorts of nice Titanium add ins are being developed all the time.
Really it all comes down to personal preferences. |
