Re: What ever happened to "TellMe" software by Microsoft

nothing. same as it's always been 1-800-555-TELL
the app looks alot like a widget and it does say it's for 6.5, which has not been officially released yet. (afaik)
also I'll bet they want it to be a flagship app for the marketplace.
oh, yea, you know tellme is owned by m$.

edit; the site says fall 09, its only been summer for 9 days

Re: What ever happened to "TellMe" software by Microsoft

it actually integrates into ur phone, such as saying a text and it will write it down and send it out, without calling a number type of thing. it does look really cool and i believe it is out for the blackberry right now. the windows mobile one will be coming out when 6.5 is released, i believe.

Re: What ever happened to "TellMe" software by Microsoft

Windows Mobile version currently in early test stages -

Text dictation works great, but a little slow to recognize, you can tell it "Text Joey Buttafuoco" and then dictate a text message - it will transcribe it, give you a chance to edit if there's an error in transcription, and then let you send it.

Beyond that, at this point in development it is not much more than speech-based interface to bing.com (GPS integration doesn't work yet for example, asking "where is the nearest coffee shop" searches bing.com for "where is the nearest coffee shop" without any location info.. so as you can imagine the results are not so relevant yet

But, it's not a widget, it's a native app, eventually it should be well integrated into the 6.5 system, for now Voice Command has far more features
