I noticed that if you are using the standard htc sip (with compact querty) the new version of opera defaults the keyboard to the stock wm (tiny) sip. However, fingerkeyboard does work well with this browser. Just wanted to mention this. good news.

i want to try it but after reading some of the posts, i might stick with 9.5 'til they work some of the kinks out.

I say go ahead and install it and try it out for yourself, for me I can deal with the kinks... it's not going to affect your existing Opera 9.5 install.

Does anyone have a skin for this that includes the zoom button/slider?

I don't think the 9.5 skins will work with 9.7 (They might, I'll give it a shot later today).. but the slider is still there, it's just hidden now.. tap and hold the screen to access the sub menu (in a webpage) and click on zoom.
