PCM Keyboard New SIP 0.11b *UPDATE 11/3*
 

From the Creator of Pocket Contacst Manager (PCM) i bring you the PCM Keyboard This keyboard is fully customizable and has a great smart word simliar to the iphone (can be seen in screenshot below, mistyped keyboard but it suggests it) also you can add words to the dictionary as seen below(notice the + sign by his name)

once you've installed the keyboard, select it as your input method, go to option in the SIP menu, and tap on the "options..." button, you'll be able to choose your skin.

1. Grab the Default IM Selector Attached below
2. Grab the PCM keyboard from the link above
3. Install both cabs
4. Start -> Programs -> IM Selector -> chose PCM Keyboard
5. Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> Select PCM Keyboard
6. Soft Reset and Enjoy

Customizing keyboard layout

This with Pocket Contact Manager makes a great combination I found it today when I was updating my copy of PCM. I have been using it all day and it works great, I have big fingers so I was a little skeptical at first, but no problems so far, it works great. Thanks for posting WOW :wink:

So far, i love it more than the last mod i was using that i found on xda (the iphone look alike), but theres something id suggest

a better landscape mode, for the wider screen, and also its kinda buggy, it sometimes appears more than half way off screen

and really, thats it, the lifting to type is a whole letter better than first impact, and made me maybe twice as accurate, thanks for the share, expect a donation

*edit:

to repeat the bug in landscape, have the standard keyboard open while in landscape, open up options, and select pcm keyboard and it will appear off screen

from what i understand quentin has pretty much decided landscape support is kind of pointless as almost all phones have the sliding keyboard for landscape mode

Same here. I can finally type using the soft keyboard without a stylus which is nice when I don't want to pull out the hard keyboard.

I'm not sure, but I don't think we have to use step 4.

Definetely looks good. Could use some more polish though. I don't really like the fact that I have to tap through three screens to get back to lowercase, unless there is somthing I'm missing. I also don't like the representation of some of the keys.

This froze up my device on reboot - I think I was out of driver space though as I've seen other programs complain about not being able to load 'due to driver memory'

On that note, anyone know if there's a way to increase that? There's plenty of free ram (20mb's..) - just not enough 'driver memory'

it made my unit loop in reset once but when it did, i just soft reset before it reset and it was alright

a man this is great now i really have no use for the stylus

Only question, how do I turn off word suggest?

Wow, this is VERY nice! Everytime I'm about to give up on the mogul something like this comes along and convinces me to stay. Great job.

im loving it!
although i'd like to disable predictive text.

the other iphone like keyboard looks better but required a hassle install process and startup process.

looks maybe... but this one will be fully skinable shortly... other than that the functionality and the bigger letters are WAY better imo

A few things some of you might have missed:

Please note however: it's currently a time limited test release, you'll have to update after 8/26/2007 with a newer version.

Missing/planned feature

* Landscape mode: most landscpae device already have a KB.
* Do you need landscape support? Keyboard color customization.
* Better suggestion button
* Image for enter (\N), backspace (\B) etc.. keys.
* Ability to create keys that enter more text (for instance a ;-) smiley key

Uninstall the keyboard
After removing the cab, there may still be an entry in the keyboard list. To get rid of it, using your favorite registry editor.
Remove the key (and subkey):

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BB25F2EB-688C-4698-ADFC-F422A148AD4F}

Later version will come with a clean install/uninstall.

some time when i try to use this it wont launch any one else have this problem or know how to fix it

Since I updated to 0.2 it's not showing the large keys the same way anymore? If I just tap on a key, it registers the keystroke, the big keys only show when I hold my finger down and drag from one key to another. Is it supposed to work this way?

mine does it too... but the new box that shows up shows me what i have hit

edit** i take that back it works like 97% of the time like normal

Yeah mine does that, but I'd rather not have the text box show up either.

ya i could live without the box... but its way btter where it shows up now than taking up the whole screen like it used to

I don't understand why, but I can't seem to get it to work at all. I have tried both versions, and am on the 1.02 kitchen I just don't get why it shows up in my sip but it's just the regular keyboard, and act like the normal keyboard.

p.s. contactCM is workin fine.

did u try using the IM selector i posted in the first post? and follow those directions?

i dont know what it is seems like its just me when i installed ver. 2 it seemed 2 fix it then i did a soft rest and it went back to not wantin to open for me every time i select it the normal keyboard opens up any ideas of y this is happening to me

no clue what phone are you using? i know on my mogul i just followed the directions i posted in post one make sure that both IM selector and Input are set to the PCM Keyboard and all is well

I just tried it and works perfect. But unfortunatly is hard to use and u make too much mistakes, cause the buttons are small.
I stay by Teksoft.SRL.FingerTouch.v1.0.RC-4.XScale.WM2005.

thanks for the help i think my phons reg was just messed up i did a hard rest and reinstalled every thing and it works fine using PocketCM Keyboard 0.3 i love this and the contact manager maybe soon we can get the contact manager to cover the dialer to or even a file explorer that works like the contact manager =P~ lol keep up the good work i love these apps

SWWEEEEETTTT this is the update ive been waiting for!!!
its default black gradient, everything works and looks great and you can turn the autocomplete off, although i havent figured that out yet.

Perhaps I'm just being dense, but I can't figure out how to disable the predictive text. I read this, but I don't know which entry disables it. I created a settings.ini file in the Program Files directory and added the line suggestion_no_auto_replace but that didn't do it.

i cannot get this to install. PCM2 uninstalls, but is still shown on the Input Selector, but it just links to the normal keyboard if i click it. this is even after a soft-reset. After installing .3, clicking PCM in the input selector it still just uses the normal keyboard.

@ flyer... you need to add =0 to the end of that

and thats just gonna stop auto replacement

lazyboy you need to remove the cab for .2 then remove the reg.. then softreset.. then install the new cab... then soft reset... then make sure its set under input then enjoy
