no luck. It came further than before, in that PCM Keyboard was removed from the select screen after deleting the reg and resetting, which is a step i had never done. But after installing again, it is selectable but again goes to the normal keyboard.

you need to make sure u followed all the steps the only thing i can say is start over from scratch erase everything including the Imselector and the keyboard and reinstall it all it will work i promise

What about a # symbol?
Was using version 0.3b couple of days ago and realized there was no # symbol on the keyboard layout (when you switch to the 2nd layout using the 123# key).

Am I missing something? Don't use the # symbol a lot but needed it for a text message and a calendar entry and like using this keyboard to enter in calendar and contact info at times.

Keep up the good work. Love the entry on release....makes it much easier for a fellow 'fat finger' guy like me to use the screen keyboard again.

copy the english.layout file to your PC open it with notepad

i made my third line look like

keyboard_layout_3=#$%_"'*789\n.,:;/()456\n\B\B&@"-+123\n\M\M?! =0\N\N

you can chose whatever u want just cant have \ as a symbol

This version is the best keyboard I've used for the Mogul yet!

The most annoying thing about any keyboard (including the hardware keyboard) is the lack of a backslash. Any time I need to manually enter a URL I have to use the symbol pad and it really bugs the hell out of me. I'm guessing MS is to blame for that, though.

yep... this particular case i think its quentins fault.. bc he assigned that as a code... \ being the activator... like \B = backspace and \N = new line etc

when i tried to add it next to the * it came out like \* and did nothing... i should realized this b4 i tried but o well..

Does the Touch? My girlfriend wants to get one when it comes to Sprint, and this keyboard would make the transition easier for her.

On another note... I cant seem to get the 0.3 OEM working, has anyone else had any problems? It is on my list, but nothing happens when I select it.

The Touch does do landscape and this keyboard works very well on that device that way.

i think "period deserves to be on default view, and apostrophe on the second view ( numbers view )

just change the layout in the settings.ini file... also if you hold the 123 button down u will get a list of symbols ready to be used

Well, I tried it, soft reset and cannot get it to work for love or money?

man every other day theres an update for keyboard or contacts.. thats just awesome.

i wish he would start working on other iphone like apps, because hes definately up to par on his software revising.

Make sure you install the other attached cab at the bottom of the first post as well as PocketCM Keyboard. You then need to go into Programs and open IM Selector choose PocketCM and reboot.

Really like this, but the only thing that annoys me is that there's no . or ? on the first page of keys...I'd assume everyone uses those as much as I do, so I wish it was on the first page.

I don't see any settings to change that. If there's a way, let me know.

Nevermind, I see that someone showed how to do it...but there's really nothing that can be replaced on the first page, anyway. Can't remove any letters or the enter/backspace or caps.

I have a fresh rom install (WM5 AKU3.5 1.04) and I can't seem to get .8 to work. I followed the directions on the first page. Installed both programs set PCM keyboard as the default and and soft reset, but every time I select it it just defaults back to the standard keyboard.

Edit: Nevermind got it working. Unistalled .8, reset, reinstalled, followed the directions on setting it as default, reset again, and now it's working.

^^what did you do to get it working? I amd having trouble getting this to work on my mogul. Whenever I set input method to PCMkeyboard I get "PocketCM keyboard has to be the current SIP in order to configure it"

Just installed this... and it works awesome!

On a side note, physically, it doenst work well with the case i have for my phone, cuz i cant fit my finger in to reach the leftmost keys. Not a big thing... just mentioning it.

if that happens open something that u can open the sip keyboard with and then hit the arrow and select PCM Keyboard and go back and try again

I tried installing the new pcmcontacts and now it lets me select the pcm keyboard but it doesn't seem to hold the setting. I select it and tap ok. then I leave and open notes or something and its the regular keyboard, then I go back to settings and it still shows regular keyboard set...any other help? I really like the pcm keyboard, but I would just want it to be my default keyboard for everything, but can't seem to get it working...

For some reason When I go to Menu/settings/input and change to PCM keyboard the change won't stick. As soon as I close it it reverts back to "Keyboard." Also after I change it to PCM keyboard and tap options it says "Current SIP....PocketCM keyboard has to be the current SIP in order to configure it."

tap the sip keyboard.... then the arrow... then pick pcmkeyboard... and enjoy

Actually its working on other applications. But just not on the settings/input screen when you try to switch it. Strange.

Works great for me, I am actually typing just as fast if not faster as is do with the physical keyboard.

the latest update is working great for me. ironic how i bought the 6700 for the slide out keyboard, now i'm trying my best to use it as little as possible lol.

shit don't work for me. All the other versions worked for me. Now I can't even use .09 cuz I get some error saying "this beta expired. download the latest version". But the latest version don't work for me.


this is getting irritating.

heres what i suggest

1.uninstall all pcm keyboards
2. uninstall default im selector
3. soft rest
4. reinstall Default Im Selector (found in post 1)
5. reinstall pcm keyboard 10
6.soft reset
7. start/progams/im selector ----> select PCM Keyboard
8. start/settings/input ----> select PCM Keyboard
9. soft reset
10. start/settings/input ---> make sure still pcm keyboard is still selected
11. tap the sip keyboard ----->tap the little arrow ---> choose PCM keyboard

i know thats a pain in the ass but it worked for me
