"Theft-proof" TP?

I read this article about "theft-proofing" the iPhone. Any way to accomplish the same things on TP?

No, this isn't about making the TP like the iPhone, it's just about making my TP hard to steal.

There is a program that allows you to call your phone and input a code that then renders the device useless until you reinput the code. I 'think' i saw it on 1800pocketpc.com or the Freeware Pocket PC site.

Well, any phone is easy to steal, unless you handcuff it to yourself. What I assume you mean is you're looking for something to make your phone impossible to use if it is stolen. In that case, look here..http://www.spritesoftware.com/produc...ite-terminator

Re: "Theft-proof" TP?

The problem with theft proofing the tp is that in most cases it will not work. Not being a thief or anything, but anyone who steals a phone in order to use it would most likely get rid of any evidence (i.e. remove sim card). And anyone looking to steal the touch pro in particular probably knows the capabilities of the phone and will hard reset it the second they get it into their hands so none of this software to locate the phone will actually work. Finally, if you do get a dumb thief who will use your device while your sim card is still in it, and wont reset it.. the battery on the device will be dead within a few hours anyway...

Re: "Theft-proof" TP?

i wish there was a program that would allow you to lock the option to hard reset the device without a password.

That would be a very good option. Type a pin number to be able to hard reset.
