Re: Touchpal: V4 Public test version has been released

I haven't got around to testing this out, but I hope that the swipe down for symbols is in the final release. Punctuation marks are used way more often than numbers, so this would def be an inconvenience.

With the way it's setup now, do you have to swipe up, then down for a symbol?

How is the landscape support?

More like a deal breaker IMHO.

The way it is now is perfect for symbols, all you have to do is swipe down the corresponding key. It is second nature to me at this point, I won't use the new version unless they keep it this way (which would annoy the hell out of me)

Re: Touchpal: V4 Public test version has been released

actually i take it back... you can still swipe down for the main punctuations: ?, , ,, and !.

I just didn't notice it lol because they moved it all to the bottom. There is no longer a swipe up then down (as with the numbers before). Sorry about that guys!

Yea I'm not sure why they would remove some of the symbols; I use : - _ / just as much as a comma and period. Everything was fine with the main keyboard IMO

I'm curious about that myself. I can't install it from work so I can't try it out until tonight.

Since landscape is really the ONLY THING that needed fixing IMHO, did they at least get that part right????

Re: Touchpal: V4 Public test version has been released

Well, I have it installed & working but it doesn't really thrill me.

Does anybody know if you can resize the landscape screen?? It works, but I want to make it a little taller & the sizing options don't seem to work in landscape??

The older version, when I was typing in SMS-chat always entered the typed text in the text box as I was typing & highlighted it in red.

The new version only gives the word selection under the text box to choose from & doesn't enter any text until you pick a word or hit the space key. I like the old way MUCH better.

Re: Touchpal: V4 Public test version has been released

From the way it sounds... it is like that old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it" I have been using Touchpal since 3.5 was released and it is the best keyboard i have ever used IMO, and yes I have tried a lot of different ones. So IMO there was nothing wrong with it to begin with, why upgrade.

Re: Touchpal: V4 Public test version has been released

Well, I TRIED to reinstall 3.5 but it won't reinstall for some reason.

I tried six times in a row, it seems to install just fine, gets to the step where it asks for your screen resolution & then says the installation failed.

I finally had to reinstall the new version again just to have a working copy of TouchPal (not the end of the world, but I do like 3.5 better).
