Software Recommendation for a new user...

Hello all! Im new to the forum and also the hTC Mogul.

So far so good. My only complaints are the BT headset issues and the odd Alarm bug when the phone is connected to the A/C plugin. The phone dialer is another area that could be improved.

I have seen some various posts regarding SPB Shell and iLauncher. Some of this software looks great as the standard WM6 can leave some to be desired.

What is the BEST choice for a robust, all in one type solution for the main Page (Today page or whatever) that lets you customize and add custom icons (or shortcuts rather) while also allowing you to actually close apps with the X.

I dont think SPB Shell 1.5 lets you close apps. You would have to pair it with MemMaid I think. However, I think Ilauncher might have the X for close. I dont really want to run 5-6 custom apps like some of you. I would be happy with 2-3 crucial additions to improve overall functionality and ease of use.

What are the MOST important 3-4 things I need to install/modify/tweak on this Stock (current ROM) Mogul?

O2 Plus...is something that combines all those and even a light profile manager. You should be able to find it in this forum.

Try SPB Pocket Plus. That app does wonders and it seems like it is right up your tree.
