windows live not saving sent emails

i have my gmail account auto forwarding my emails to a live account so i can get my emails pushed to me, but for some reason it is not saving my sent emails. the box is checked to keep copies of sent items in the sent folder in the message tab of the options. does this work for anyone?

also the formatting seems to get lost once sent. if i send 2 paragraphs the recipient gets one big paragraph. what gives?
