Question Palringo killing battery!

Hi,

I recently started using Palringo because I wanted to use my MSN and Yahoo Messenger and I've already noticed two annoyances. One real big one is it kills my battery in 2 hours. The discharge rate goes upto 550 ever 25 seconds, and then returns to 202. Without Palringo, my discharge rate is at ~120. The next annoyance is how it tagged the [via Palringo] in my MSN status. I do not want that. Can I fix these two problems, or do I need to look for another IM client that does NOT behave like Palringo?

Thanks!

Beejive is a good one as well http://www.beejive.com/winmo/
CAB file attached. You may also want to reinstall Palringo...sometimes it gets stuck trying to connect and can kill the battery pretty quickly.

Does Beejive have the stupid signature thing too? Where it plasters every account that I'm using beejive?

Re: Palringo killing battery!

I must not have an updated Palringo cause I have not noticed the "tag" on other messengers while using Palringo, and I know for a fact people don't know that I'm actually chatting from Palringo. Anyway, it wouldn't be a prob for me cause it's a great service and why not advertise a little. Esp when every messenger has their name plastered everywhere. Anyway, Beejive is cool, but still prefer Palringo. Another one to try is Nimbuzz. I actually think that one has the most potential, but still prefer Palringo right now. As far as battery drain, I don't see a way to stop that if you keep your Palringo running since it requires a constant data connection. I only launch it when I'm ready to chat, so don't have too much of a battery issue. If you don't want it to launch automatically, you can change that in the settings.

Re: Palringo killing battery!

The battery death is the main reason i stopped using chat clients on my phone. I have way too much other battery killing crap to use more life on chatting

About the "TAG", the other side wont know unless YOU set an away message. which will show something like [via Palringo]. the problem is.. once its set.. its set for good. So dont ever use Away message in order to keep the other side from knowing u r using palringo.
