Quick question for installing. I have an older version currently installed. .5b. Do I need to uninstalled everything first, or simply install this on top.

To use this on WM5 is simple, do a search and replace in homecust.mscr. Replace "\HTCHome" with "Windows". Works great. The only difference between the two(as far as themes go) is the install location.

Thank u much sir, You were absolutely correct and it makes sense. To make the 6 tab home work for apache, its directory was changed to \windows, whereas mogul users are installing this as a cab right now and that location is \HTChome. I have made the change and it works flawlessly, thanks again.

For anybody that wants this, I have attached a zip of the changed file. extract and replace in your HTC Home Customizer. You will be replacing the homecust.mscr

I cannot reproduce this error. Could you outline (in detail) the steps you are taking to install the app (from download to running the customizer)?

That makes sense on the Apache. The \Windows directory is the default directory for the htc home plugin. However, the htchome.dll was hacked to move most of the files to the \htchome directory instead.

stroths, you are correct. However, the dlls were rehacked to allow for install from OEM.

Also how do you modify the taskbar and such? I don't want calander on the bottom left of the screen... and how do you get those battery options?

I am a total newb to pocket PC, this is my first phone/pocketpc device.

pardon the total noob question, this is my first attempt at loading anything on to the mogul.

i have unzipped and loaded all files onto my storage card. from there, i go through file explorer and start the file ' homecust.exe' and it takes me through all of the various things you can change.

after each adjustment, it says something like 'this has been changed' and i hit ok - so it takes me back to the menu with other options.

when i exit the program to view the changes, it says something like 'this will take a minute, press ok to exit'. so i hit ok, and nothing happens. fast forward 5 minutes later, still nothing.

i go through the same procedure as before thinking i shouldnt have hit 'ok' to exit, and let my phone just sit and (hopefully) cycle through and let the changes take hold. no change at all.

any thoughts?

Here is a thought and suggest that I had. I see this project taking off and everyone wanting to add their own icons, clocks, etc. Unfortunately, that means the app is going to keep growing in size. One thought I had was having the app use Total Commander to access the ftp and then it could just download needed files. Then you would not need to take up space with endless graphic files. Just an idea.
