Your only other option would be services like e-moze, which you mentioned, and Seven that push mail to your phone as it arrives. In those instances, though, you would always get the new mail alerts on your phone, as it is sent down the second it arrives in your inbox. Battery wise, they don't really effect drain that much, due to the fact that they are idle except when pulling mail, they just ping the servers often enough to keep the connection alive.

Why donate to one person, when you can support the site that makes it all possible instead

I was thinking WinMo 6.1 would clear the new mail notification if it ceases to be "new" before the notifier is seen. I'll give emoze a shot and see how it works for me. Thanks.

Re: Best way to get gmail on my phone?

Emoze requires your pc to be running. You might want to try out seven or myfunambol. I have used both and am currently using myfunambol. Seven will do multiple accounts. I also like that you can schedule your sync times so that you do not get that email in the middle of the night to wake you up. I think I quit using it because it kept telling me to install the updated version but I always had problems getting it to download.

Funambol is pretty nice. It will sync contacts, notes, and such and it has a nice web interface if you go log on.

All these slap on their own ad-based signatures on our outgoing email, correct?

To be honest I am not sure. I will go ahead and check funambol and get back at you. Someone else will have to tell you about seven.
