Re: Wine rating app?
Landware had an app called "Wine Enthusiast Guide" for $19.99 that was pretty good. Handmark's web site says the app is still available and that it was last updated 3/12/09 but it still carries a 2007 date in the app title. Landware's web site says the app is currently only available for the iphone and the ipod touch.
My wife bought the app for me as a birthday present in 2007 and I just didn't use it enough to make me want to pay to update it. Definitely worth a little research if your interested as it was a pretty good app. Links: http://store.handmark.com/p/598//Lan...le-Pocket-PC/- http://www.landware.com/products/index.html Also, Google "pocket pc wine guide" and there are a lot of other apps to check out. Re: Wine rating app?
Thanks for the link. If the app says it is good for WM5 do you know if it will it be compatible with WM6.1?

Re: Wine rating app?
I have a few questions for you. What was your impression of the app? Is it worth the price and do you agree with the ratings?
Is there some sort of update you can get with this app for newer vintages? Also I am a huge fan of Italian & Spanish reds, are those countries properly covered? |

Re: Wine rating app?
Free options -
I had "Wine Enthusiast Guide" on my Treos way back when, but never migrated it over to WM. If all you're doing is looking up ratings, prices, etc and not keeping track of your own cellar I found their web based rating/review to work just fine from my TP. (Wine Enthusiast Magazine provides the data for the "Wine Enthusiast Guide") http://www.winemag.com/buyingguide/search.asp?db= Also, you can download a Vintage Chart in PDF format from here if you just want something for quick reference. http://www.winemag.com/Media/Publica...ge_Chart_1.pdf With those two options I couldn't see spending the $20 when it didn't look like they were actively developing the software. (Edit: I also use this one on occasion: http://www.wines.mobi/ )

Re: Wine rating app?
I would agree with 02840. Unless you're trying to track your own collection, just use the online resources. The info is readily available and up to date. Even if they were actively supporting and updating the app, I don't know that I would buy it. But, as I got it as a gift, I loaded it on my TP and still find I use it occasionally.

Re: Wine rating app?
One of the main reasons for wanting an app like this would be when I am in a restaurant and I would love to see the ratings on the various wines they have available. Especially if I am undecided about 2 or 3 of them and they are all about the same price.
