Re: find files from cab install
I'm not sure if there's an easier way to do extract files, but the way I do it is to copy the cab to my desktop PC. Open the cab file with a compression utility like WinZip (I use IZArc). Extract the .xml file and open. In the xml file, look for the file name of the skin file. The line should look similar to something like this - <characteristic type="FILENAME.XXX" translation="install">.
Once you've located the line in the xml file that installs the skin, look two lines below the install line to determine what the file name of the skin is in the cab. That line should read something like this: <parm name="Source" value="XXXXXX.nnn" /> Extract that file from the cab to your desktop PC and rename it to the correct skin file name. You can then copy that renamed file back to your device. HTH |
