Like those all-in-one printers...they never do the scanning or the printing, or the faxing 100% great. It is all mediocre. So, get yourself a dedicated alarm clock. Phones are phones.

Dude, i gave a quick review for the people that didn't have it yet.

It's not 100% ready get over it.

Xboxmod did a phenomenal job, but there still are some qwerks.

People are just HANDING it to me today LOL!...

Man i'm gonna go lock myself away for a few days.

I think it's been proven already that it's got some qwerks to it...

I love the new start menu though... so pimp!

The start menu is pimp, just a bit slow on the first load

This TP2 port (and custom ROMs for that matter) are bringing out the worst in some people. Rather than saying thanks to the people who are spending hours of their free time to do something that benefits us all, everyone's complaining. Maybe there should be a rule although it's like stating the obvious: positive contributions only please.

Yeah the problem with the HD port is that its irreversible without a hard reset and landscape doesn't work (not a huge problem considering how little I use landscape, but I have a weird thing for applications being complete).

Yea, I noticed everyone was up in his grill in the juicy thread, but it was too late to do anything, so i figured i would do it here :D

OK I think after mixing and matching all day i found a stable way of using this one. i used cfays rom ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=61193 ) and downloaded the tp3d. so far very good even installed a custom theme....

A couple of questions:
- If you install cab-by-cab, can it be uninstalled if problems, or do you need to hard reset?
- Does your phone need to be unlocked, or can the cabs be installed on a regular stock Sprint phone?

Thanks in advance. I've never wanted to get into Manila tweaks or cooked ROM's, but this upgrade may make me change my mind...I don't want to make the jump if I can't easily reverse it.

What is on post #1 is just cabs so you don't have to unlock or use a custom rom. As far as uninstalling I don't know I always just hard reset and start over. At this point this is NOT for the weak of heart, read the first post and the issues I list that are currently known, I would wait a little longer before making your first plunge.

If you are old enough to be his dad, then act like it. You obviously didn't spend the time to accurately read his opinion based on his use. As far as your comment about an alarm clock, is it against your religion to use your Pocket PC (notice I didn't call it a "phone") for the multiple uses it was designed for? Just because YOU use an alarm clock doesn't mean everyone else has to, and bashing others for doing differently just makes you look juvenile and immature. Until you start cooking up stuff for the community, then just stop. These guys all know each other and the constructive criticism like what Mike posted is what keeps these projects like this moving forward. Take your unmerited criticism somewhere else.

On a more related note, the new layout is neat, and while it has some minor issues, I'm sure they'll be worked out as more people use it.

i think people should relax, im not sure what went down over at XDA but people should remember that we are a community helping each other out. making our phones better. i think people should relax and thank those that work had for these progams and updates.

i dont get people sometimes.

I'm sure you weren't referring to just me (or if me at all), but I apologize if I came off strong on the other guy. I just don't understand why Mike (a very experienced person here, whose opinion is generally held in a high regard) got ripped for giving an honest, objective opinion.

Thanks for the response - I saw the cabs, but I didn't know if they over-wrote any current files and required a hard reset. I do intend to wait a bit until braver souls take it on a test run.

Hmm. Beta 1a.

It's a different link than the one we recieved earlier, and now we need to update our OEMs, awesome.

I just installed the Fuzeberry II theme which took like 1.5 hours, aha. I guess I'll flash the new one in a bit and see what all has changed since Beta 1.

Those links in the post aren't the most current beta by xbox, current release fixes more bugs. another thread located here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=61809

I believe that was a private beta, and xbox got some bugs worked out before releasing the most current one... I'm not sure on the details on the exact fixes yet though..

the Official Beta version 1a has been released over at xda, so you can update the first page. i don't know what, if anything, has been tweaked since the unofficial release. it also seems that the Official install process is slightly different then what you suggest so you probly should update. just giving a heads up.
