Re: [12-3-09]Android CDMA TouchPro: TEXT and TALK(RAPH800) Ported!!!

on my diamond, I can get thru linux boot screens. but diamond freezes on Android splash screen - the one with the robot and blue square in upper left corner.
what file do I replace to get it to load all the way ? the only files I have are system.img , initrd, rootfs.img, or zimage??? or am I missing a file?

I understand it will have limited function, but I still want to load it ...

I can boot up with Touch Pro RAPH800 on Cellular South network. Have WiFi working, but can't get phone or sms service to come on.

it's either WiFi or CDMA at this point, and never CDMA data. Makkonens CDMA rootfs and zImage posted earlier will give CDMA calls and SMS, but without WiFi. Connect-UTB's latest kernels give WiFi

currently, no new autobuild kernels support both CDMA and GSM models. most development is behind the GSM handsets. luckily there are a lot of people working on CDMA phones, and these are the true HTC Heros :p

OK, with a little perseverance and a little luck, and a great deal of processor cycles and help from the folks in #htc-linux, we have a build with

CDMA radio
CDMA data
WiFi

Still lacking: Microphone (so actually making calls is still out). USB connections. Speaker. Any semblance of support for DIAM500 and RAPH500 (Sorry -- there's little differences, and without using the devices I don't know what they are or where the problems are coming from). About 20 other things that aren't coming to mind right now.

Weirdness: It seems that touching the touchscreen while data is actively downloading causes the device to go to sleep. Who knows why. Also, every once in a while, it'll hang right at the end of haret loading linux, before switching to the boot log. Just reboot and try again.

Still mostly useless, but now way more fun.

Instructions: As before, grab the full package (easiest place to find it is on connect-utb.com), and replace zImage, rootfs.img, and the modules.tar.gz with the ones from this zip. Good luck.

Still not working for RAPH500.. Does anyone know how to log the boot process so I can post a log up so we can look into the errors?

Fantastic work Makkonen! I posted it on Connect-utb.com now as well! I bet all RAPH800 will greatly appreciate it ;)

Keep up the great work!

Oh, and btw.. Are there any extra steps needed in order to get a working data connection, or should it work pretty much out of the box?
