Internet sharing with Linux possible?

I have a netbook coming Tuesday(HP Mini 1000) that runs Linux. One of the main purposes for this puppy is going to be mobile internet via my Diamond. Is there any way for this to work with a variety of Linux? I would prefer Ubuntu but an open to anything. I have been wanting to play around with Linux for a while but need to be able to get the 'net. Otherwise I'll just have to load up XP or W7.

Re: Internet sharing with Linux possible?

Internet Sharing works perfect with Linux Ubuntu 8.10, but it doesn't on the older versions of Ubuntu(unless you have stuff done to your Ubuntu). SO, I would recommend getting Ubuntu 8.10 and have a happy life.

Re: Internet sharing with Linux possible?

Sounds good. 8.10 would be fine, it will be a fresh install regardless as the stock is a specialized version that is locked down. Last time I tried Linux was a couple years ago and it was a pretty rough experience, hopefully this will go better.
