Wifi Mode?? Programmers might know...

I was just wondering if there is a small Program that would run and then it would:

1) disable "turn device off"
2) switch the function of the power button to Screen off, instead of phone off.

I can do this manually, but It would be nice if there was a program that would let me do this and undo this with the running of a single program.

If there is not one, any programmers out there willing to write one? :P

My main reason for this is so I can use WiFi and stay connected while the screen is off. So that I can stay online with Messengers and such.
