Sync/outlook/gmail/tasks/contacts/etc.

if i sync up google calendar with my phone does this mean that it will automatically update in the calendar portion on my phone? Is this true with tasks, and updating contacts that they will be stored on gmail. Is this a 2 way relationship?

How do you go about having multiple emails on your cpu and your phone? i have like 6 gmail accounts and a couple other accounts that i use for various things and i use them daily. Is there a way to combine this. And if i use google calendar does this mean that i dont need activesync anymore? if i update a task on my phone does it update on google tasks and vice versa? And since im on vista 64, i cant use activesync in the first place and i have to use the default mobile pc or windows mobility center. And to put a twist on this i have other computers that are windows xp that i use as well. I am trying to find the best way to simplify all of my items while still being versatile.

If i have multiplle email accounts should i be using outlook or does gmail have an equivelant? is everything on google web based and nothing software like outlook?

Oh ya i have ppc 6800 i think tis the diamond pro

Sorry that im not too clear, but i am having a good amount of confusion with this topic.

Re: Sync/outlook/gmail/tasks/contacts/etc.

Right now, Google Sync will synce your Calendar and Contacts with the GCloud. You can then sync from the GCloud to your PC with GoogleSync application.

As for the email accounts, I would look at setting up IMAP accounts, as that will sync across multiple machines.

Re: Sync/outlook/gmail/tasks/contacts/etc.

might wanna take a look at seven beta it gives you the option to sync up to like 8 accounts i think and for popular emails services (gmail, yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc) it helps you set up the accounts and it has the option to sync up your gmail calendar and contacts

thanks for suggesting seven. i think i might have to test it when its completed bc/ i can't deal with any errors. ive read on the forums that the beta has problems when you are using data.

hmm i dunno i've been using the seven beta google sync feature for my contacts and calendar for well over a month now and it's great i don't even see how i was using it before i started using the google it works two ways so i can go to the actual google website (www.google.com/calendar) and mod my calendar or i can do the stuff on my phone when i don't have access to the site and they just added the task feature it would be nice if there was a way that i could sync my contacts pictures with google but that's the only thing i'm having an issue with i haven't run in to many errors other then when they were upgrading the seven i definately recommend you at least check it out
