Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

I've been playing with this since it came out. The idea and sound are great. You can really strum the strings and get a guitar sound with minimum lag. It's amazing because you can't hit two notes at a time on a TP to make polyphonic chords.

That's the part I love. The other part is that on a TP, you have to experiment a lot to find stuff. The buttons that work (to set up and make chords play) seem to be the volume levers and the Back button. The chords are a mystery though. You actually can change and play them but I don't know how to get the chords I want. Someone who plays guitar might be able to guess better than I can. (I play banjo, 4 and 5 string, which have different tunings and chord positions.)
Finally, the X button is microscopic. It's in the upper lefthand corner and if you peck around with your stylus, eventually you will hit it and be able to close the app without a soft reset.

Conceptually, it's brilliant though. And it's a work in progress that is worth following if you have any interest in making music on your WM phone.

Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

if you know how to read tabs you can basicaly just transfer the tabs to the fretboard on the program, on the touch pro i can use all the directional buttons and the volume buttons for chords.

Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

The strings are backwords. The low E should be on top.

Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

I've been messing with it for a couple weeks, offering suggestions and waiting for it to get better. On the Vogue the sounds are kinda crackly, and the strings (to me) are backwards from low to high, but I really like the idea.

Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

well the way the string are now your making the chords with your left (assuming your using the d-pad) and strumming with your right same as normal, but that being said i agree it feels backwards

Re: Turn your ppc into a guitar

I figured out you can just turn it over to make everything work, using my right hand on the "strings" and the left to push the buttons to change chords. My main issue is the sound crackles. iperov did post that it is a problem with Qualcomm processors, I'm hoping for a fix.
