Ok I just installed the newest version. Love it so far. Now I'm trying to figure out how to complete this step to stop the double sms notice. Can someone please post a step by step how to? Sorry for being so ignorant about this.

add the following line to your settings.ini file

bring_pcm_to_front_on_sms=0

1.open notepad on pc
2.paste "bring_pcm_to_front_on_sms=0" minus the quotes
3.save as "settings.ini"
4.copy to \program files\pocketcm on your phone
5.restart PCM

I found this (post #99):

uninstalling Pocket CM does restore the link to contacts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To manually recreate it - create a shortcut with the target 'poutlook.exe contacts'. I remembered seeing this is a thread about changing the default outlook view.

here:

I am not sure if this works, but it is the only place I have seen this problem addressed. I have the same issue, but I am happy with PocketCM, so I didn't pursue it. Let me know if it works for you....good luck!!

I'll ask him over there, I thought he was talking about either startup, or in a reg editor. I would like to know in case I find the need as well...I will post his response here as well!

You could also try re-installing it and then uninstall.

That doesn't seem to work, after you uninstall, trying to open contacts treats it like an empty shortcut!

Here is the response I got last night:

shortcut location

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you want the shortcut placed in the first level of the Start menu, create a shortcut in \windows\Start Menu
