I understand some of you maybe upset its not working or something, but the harsh words are uncalled for especially considering this is a free beta.

It really does work when you use gps to track yourself. Even on a sprint TP

I quite enjoy google maps with latitude. Hopefully they can get cell tower triangulation to work with sprint...

I actually really like this program. I don't want it to constantly run and track me. That isn't so much the point. I like being able to update my location when I want people to be able to meet me or find me. Kind of like a Facebook status update or a Twitter feed. If I go out someplace I can update myself on Latitude and others can get easy directions to where they can meet me. I don't need my GPS constantly running and updating my location all day at work.

Google Latitude works great on the (unreleased) Sprint Treo Pro.

Reason? The "My Location" feature works on the STP, aka cell tower triangulation/A-FLT.

Granted, this method is much less accurate than GPS/aGPS but the benefit is this: uses virtually no battery life so you can leave it on 24/7 and it will 'track' you even if you exit the program (seriously, it even asks), second it's instant/very fast and third it works completely indoors, deep inside any building.

I'm also more comfortable knowing people can see me in the vicnity but not within a 100 feet, lol. OTOH, if I do want that I just switch on GPS and bang...instant, accurate location for everyone.

Awesome, this gives me hope that Google will have cell triangulation working for the Touch Pro.

Yes but it doesnt seem to update on my touch pro, even when left on, while it should so at some intervals.
