Why Does Goolge Latitude SUCK
What's up with google latitude completely sucking on the touch pro and many many other phones. I upgraded thinking that this was going to be the best app ever. Only thing that went fine with the god like program was the install and how it was painless. But thats not were the pain ends so my girl has a BB curve and we are on the sprint network. We can't track each other for SHI*. Program doesn't do you thing it was advertised to do. The only time my location is updated is when i update myself and same as on the BB but sometimes on the BB the location is updated but lol it's like 80 miles off and has her phone in a different state. Gotta love that GPS good within 80 miles compete bullshi*. I hate google and always have why release something that doesn't do anything it was suppose to maybe google and HTC are partners. Please replay to this if you have the same problem.

I get Search Map, Get Directions, Satellite View, Clear Map, Show Traffic, Favorites, Zoom, Help, Exit. When I go into normal Google Maps (non Java version) I do not see anything for Latitude. |
Re: Why Does Goolge Latitude SUCK
Latitude on my touch pro works great! At least as great as the FCC will let it work. Due to privacy issues both parties need to be running the program actively (if you exit out of google maps using their exit, it will ask you if you want to continue to run in background). As far as I can figure Google wanted to get something out there so everyone knows Google has it. I expect to see updates for it. If you can make the GPS and aGPS on your phone constantly update then this program will work great...unfortunately you will need Mugen's 3000mah battery to make up for the GPS running constantly. The best responses I get from it are obviously only if I am outside. If I am inside I need to refresh the location manually. I found that it works as advertised but it could be made much better.

Open Google Maps--- click Menu--- then Latitude--- Log in using Google account login info--- set your privacy info to whatever you want--- then add other friends that have latitude set up on their devices--- they will get message to allow you to see them and them see you--- After that there isn't really any other settings other than your privacy settings--- If you get it working you can click on yourself on the map and change picture of yourself That is pretty much the extent of it. I haven't had any issues with it on my Diamond or Touch Pro (Both running Conflippers ROMs) |
