Avantgo everywhere

Hello

from the dark ages with PALM I have a Avantgo account.
The PPC software did not very well but now I figured out that I can access my Avantgo channels via the Webbrowser (PIE and Opera9.5 tested positive).

Simply type "http://m.avantgo.com/ui" and login.

Regards
Highc

Re: Avantgo everywhere

I loved Avantgo in the day... Used it with my palm and W2000/2003 units... But when the RSS became the standard and PDAs became Phones with net connections, it became obsolete fast...

Is it now primarily a mobile website to view rss feeds online?

Hi

I would say no, it is not for viewing rss feeds online.

There is a reason for me to still use Avantgo instead of browsing directly to a web page. But this is just my reason.

There are still a lot of homepages which are not designed for Mobiles.
And in Avantgo you can add your own Channel which points to a Homepage and converts it to a usable mobile view.
With this I have my "private" mobile view on all pages I'd like to see on my web enabled phone.

Sure, the browsers can show the same thing. But with Avantgo I miss the popups and the advertising arround the main info.

Highc
