edit.....guess everyone chimed in on that one LOL!!!!
In addition if you leave one of the photo contact links as open, it will take you to the search screen when pressed.

When I tried that it did take me to the search screen, but then all it did was add the contact when I selected it... maybe I was missing something there.

Instead I copied the [Spb Contacts].lnk from the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Spb Mobile Shell folder into the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and was then able to add it as an application widget and go straight to the search screen in one click.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice that the Spb Mobile Shell folder doesn't show up when you try to add an application widget?

Thanks for this info I'll try that. For all that told me about going to Contacts then far right "man with phone"...yes that does take you to search. But to get to see the notes on that contact you have to go to the right softkey then press "Open contact" then go to Notes. Seems like a lot of key presses to me. I like the SPB Contacts button in MS2 as it was a 2 step process.
Maybe I'm just not seeing this quick way somewhere else, I do have CRS.

Ha, sorry about that, I saw the search screen and made a bad assumption. Great idea about adding it as an application.

The problem with opera is that 9.5 beta installs into different directories than the older versions, so MS3 cannot see them. You can change some of this in the registry, but why, just follow the steps below to make it work.

The easy way, find (earlier in this thread) the power toy for editing the menus. Then unzip it, and transfer the .exe file over to your phone. The file does not install, it simply runs when you click on it, so know where you put it. I added it to my tools group in the launcher for future use.

Once you run the power toy program you can then check and uncheck the entries in each menu group, you can add sub-menus and you can add new files to run in the various launcher groups.

For Opera (assuming that you have 9.5 beta) you cannot use the built in opera link (or favorites or history) you can add a "link" to the internet group and then select your Opera install from the list that pops up.

Hope this helps. The instructions to go to SPB settings, and then check and uncheck, is from MS2.1. MS3 has type of feature, ONLY if you use the power toy.
That worked. Still no hope for getting my bookmarks thru the shell tho. I wonder if there's a way to have Opera automatically pop up the bookmarks upon launch, like the link in TF3D.

Yea I used the normal Today screen before. It looks like the culprit is with SPB Weather tho. I haven't used it at all today and my battery life has been more normal. I tried turning off the auto-update within it but it still seemed to drain while it was running, so for now I'm going to "un-integrate" it from MS3.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I'm having a somewhat annoying problem with MS3.

Text message notifications will stop showing up on MS3 as well as S2U2...

I'll hear the texting sound, see the SMS icon at the top, but none of the programs see that I have a new text message. Disabling MS3 from starting up solves the issue with S2U2, but why won't MS3 see that I got a new message?

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out.

freeza..... orlandojumpoff had a good idea in asking how you fixed this. I had this issue as well, and my fix was to downgrade to the original MS3 (not exactly the best fix in the world LOL)!!!

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I have come to conclusion that I don't like the MS3. I'm going back to MS2. I don't like that they took a lot of the options away. The main thing is the lag between Portrait and Landscape. 9 sec. is too long to wait when there is an emergency. The screens are repetitious. I like the Lifestyle layout page and thats it. Maybe I will go back when they do some major releases. Going back to MS2 WHOHOOO!
