I played around with it a bit and I am actually pretty impressed. I think its a more than viable alternative to TF3D and would probably be best paired up with a stable and fast 6.5 ROM. The cool thing about it is that it replaces a lot of the stuff we used to install to make TF3D seem fancier... like icontact, maybe thumbcal ... the 3d page view is very cool! I like the weather... I was never really a big fan of really detailed weather apps. Give me the temperature and a few days forecast highs and lows and I am good... The contacts carousel complete with facebook integration is a cool idea. Also love the idea of a professional today screen and a "fun" today screen.

I would actually pay for this app. Hope the official version comes out soon. This with a 6.5 ROM would be money.

Anyone know what build this is. I was running 6362 and it seemed a little buggy. A few icons were distorted and and the status pie kept coming up and would go away when I hit the task manager in the corner.

Also the weather did not work so I guess this may be the same build?

I don't know, maybe there is something wrong with me but I went back to tf3d again after playing around with this for about 2 hours.

The widgets screen was cool, also the facebok contact pictures import function... but I dunno, I started to miss the tf3d eye candy almost immediately, also the tf3d music player which i love. Mobile shell 3 is more functional than tf3d but I can't stand the dull look of it atm, I'll probably install it again when some cool themes start popping out.

The cool thing about it is it doesnt seem to hog memory or run drain the battery. At the very least I wouldnt mind having them both (TF3D and Mobile Shell) installed and then turn on the one I feel like using at the moment.

I really like this. We'll have to wait and see how much customization can be done with it. Does anyone know how/if you can add pics to the main contact list. I looked around but couldn't find anything.

im thinkin i might just replace tf with this, i was cleaning out my mem card and noticed i used 15 different cabs to modify touch flo!! this def. might give it the boot for good!

have and touchpro users noticed the orientation change from portrait/landscape is painfully slow or is it just my phone??

How do you get the register/close buttons on the bottom of the screen to disappear? I can't try it out because when I press on register I can't add a serial number and if I press close it just exits mobile shell. It won't let me swipe.

I am using Mighty ROM 4.16, so maybe that's causing a problem?

i just replaced tf with this too! good choice cant wait to see the skins/themes people are going to make for this.
I noticed that too its a horrible lag! and was bugging the hell out of me
we will have to wait till the official version comes out!

i had no problem with this screen. I even registered this version!
thats really weird i would just reinstall this [uninstall then reinstall] that might do the trick. also make sure this is the only thing selected in your today screen option having other things selected might be affecting somthing especially if its tf3d

Works great on my HTC Sprint Diamond...this UI is FRAKKIN Sweet!! If I can get a good MP3 program that works with my Bluetooth headset I am saying goodbye to TF3D...this is awesome.

My icon isn't missing.
And that's just the built-in/OEM/WM6.1 DeviceLock. It doesn't change the screen. Just locks everything. But it would be nice to have that linked to the home screen.... [thinking].... maybe use a widgit?

im hoping someone can figure out how to change the default media player. its a cool widget, but i dislike WMP. Rather have coreplayer or tcpmp.

That's interesting. It's not even an option in my today screen. Un-installing, rebooting, re-installing doesn't seem to do anything.

I guess I'll have to wait for the official version.

it actually runs in the background. your today screen should have the right soft key mapped to spb mobile shell. use that to access it. you can switch back and forth between that and the today screen.

its runs fine on my touch pro. btw, are you running a 6.5 ROM? I find it EXTREMELY FAST right now and I am running that new Copper ROM...but i think that may also be because the Copper ROM is a relatively clean ROM. give it a try and let the rest of us know what you think.

yeah, my mightyROMS confusing it. I press the spb Home soft key and the now screen shows up but it still thinks I'm on the today screen because the HTC task manager is still in the upper right corner and the Register/Exit soft keys cover up the bottom of the now screen.

Can't figure it out. It's killing me, I've been waiting forever for this to come out.

Beandogg, did you have Mobile Shell 2.0 install prior? I had the same problem too, I think it thinks that your 15 day trial is over. I use mobile shell 2.1.5 and uninstalled it and installed 3.0 and I got the register and close buttons as well. Then I noticed that it said 0 days of trial left. I did a hard reset and installed and it worked.

Is anyone having trouble answering calls? I can't answer any incoming calls when Mobile Shell is active. When I close it, it works fine.

Try Kinoma Play...its pretty sweet..but like 30 bucks...but you can probably find a 20-30% off coupon on handango or something like that...

On the individual contact screen there's a "Send MMS" icon. When I tap on it it opens up the Text Messages screen. I don't have the Sprint MMS app installed. For anyone who does, does the MMS icon bring up the MMS screen?

I went to the options and disabled the 3d accelerator on my TP and it seems to be faster. Might work for you.

The mms part brings up the mms feature if you install the arcsoft 5.xxx.082 or whatever that version is...works perfectly

I am using the Copper ROM without any dialer skin. Weird because I can't answer any phone calls. It's like the phone is locked when a call is coming in.

Nope, it brings up a regular text message screen. At least on my Touch Pro :(
