Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Its pretty, this thing flies. I'm not having any major issues yet that I can find, the startbar keeps wanting to go transparent when I'm in tf3d and I can't access the backlight panel without going into settings. I'm tired so I don't know if it's because of something I've done yet or not till someone else posts something.

exchange 2003 (behind in times) dont read in to the title but here is my thoughts on this yes to domain enroll can be done but major problem is this for it to work right you need a vpn from exchange server but you also have to have it linked with server 2003 witch is a another part you have to have the device setting in the AD right for the phone for it to sync right if not you will get a comm error unable to connect witch is what i was getting this after noon now on the other hand looking at the set up it is really simple just have to make sure you have the server client active sync plug in and service turned on in the MMC console and have all the setting for the plug ins im going to be doing more work with this tomorrow i work for a medical foundation that is looking at going from a blackberry server to a wm and we are going to be getting like 200 new HTC phones so i have to get this figured out as well

Ok, I set it up to sync against my personal exchange 2003 server (I found a 25 licence on ebay for almost nothing about 2 years ago) with build 1.2 of 21193, I got the same exact error. Here's how it all went down... for the test here (oh, and 21195 is out, update to that version plz for the next build)..

1. Setup on PC, set up to sync against my server (I am on the local domain in my home), it seemed to sync mail and I was able to select my folders to sync.
2. Make sure I am fully sync'ed....all good here...all mail is on the 6800 as requested
3. Disconnect from PC, connect via VZW internet and sync again..
4. Activesync on WM said it sync'ed fine (checked time difference).
5. Logged in to 3rd party mail to send a test mail to my account on my exchange server.
6. Heard test e-mail arrived on my desktop. Attempt to sync again, active sync error 0x80070057...Pull 3 hairs out of my head..

Nope, does not work, I know my 2003 Exchange server very well, This is a problem with this build, I have been syncing for a long time from WM 5.0 (when 5.0 was new)

A bit off topic I know, but have you heard about this thing called the period? It's used in the English language to identify the end of a sentence.

QVGA SYS for 21195.

This is a combination of the Chinese QVGA SYS and Da_G's VGA version.

Thanks for providing and sharing. Just now ported and everything is fine but still same problem with SMS. :'(

Is this releated to IE? because everytime I will be removing the new version IE and will be placing old IE that version 5.

Thanks again

YES, I got it. SMS is working prefect now. I just disabled titanium from today screen settings and the SMS is working fine so this titanium is releated to my SMS issue.

Anyhow, I don't like that titanium so I will remove and replace to manila 2d which is my feature.

Thanks and regards

Hmmm.. so what did you specifically do so that Titanium would stop working?

I did nothing. There is no Titanium and it works fine but if I enable it, then SMS won't work.

Oops, sorry, it was 7am and I made a mistake in my question.. I meant to say SMS, not Titanium. So you mean you disabled Titanium in the registry, or you removed certain folders?

No, Just unticked the Titanium or the today plugin or the chome from today screen ( I'm little bit confused. Some tells that is titanium and some tells its chome. ) :)

BTW, I haven't touched the sys.

Edit 2: Found it and its because of IE. If I use the new version IE then SMS works fine but untill today I was using old IE inwhich I used to remove and replace to old version IE because of lack of ROM memory in HTC Wizard. Howevery today I tried to add the new IE by remove all the OEM's and got SMS working but new IE takes lot memory so I cannot use it. Everyone is using the new IE so thay won't face any problem with SMS but only I :)

A file/s in IE is releated to SMS to work but don't know which so should research on it.

Thanks and regards

Could also be that one of the OEMs you removed had an effect.

Just so people know, on the latest ROM (21195) I am successfully syncing with exchange 03. I set it up last night and sent/received a few test emails to see if it would stay sync'd. As of this morning, it is still connected and working. I know a few people had it go a day before it messed up on previous builds, so I'll report again to let everyone know. I have high hopes tho :)

Anyone know a registry setting to go back to the old style of start menu scrolling? I don't like the way the new builds 'hit the brakes' when you get more than one page past where you started.

It's not a reg edit. It's part of the new systems. If you are cooking, you CAN put the old start menu back in by downgrading some parts of the system but I don't recommend it, it makes things very messy and you lose a lot of improvements. If I could figure out where I put the nbh file I made based on the Sprint leaked rom I'd throw it to you but I have no clue where i have it or if i have it anymore.

By the way, how do we enable mult-select in the file explorer in 6.5? It is only possible to select multiple files if you have no scrollbar (ie. a few files).

I have no idea. For fun, try using one of the 6.5 themes and editing the mxipcold_wpc_2.provxml in the base_dpi....resh_480_resv_640 folder accordingly. Say if you're using Classic Blue, try removing the entries for the classic blue theme in the xml. I'd say it will either remove the scroll bars, or revert them back to the 6.1 look.

Go there, get the StartMenu CAB, install it on your device, you will have two start menu's then. One when you tap the flag, the other when you tap the Start text......

Now, onto 21198. I have not figured out the XIP bit yet, and have been using the ones that have been posted. Anyone have the XIP's sorted out yet?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Just got my first 21193 ROM cooked up only to find that when Titanium is up, it seems to monopolize the screen. I get one chance to open the start menu and launch an app. After that, if I go back to the Today screen, Titanium appears to no longer allow other apps to draw over it. They do launch and run. If I use MSVC to "Start" an app, it seems to have a much better chance of displaying.

Anyone else seen this behavior?

That happened to me after I installed Touchpal. wm6.5 doesn't seem to like it. So I would say its a program added in.

Thanks for the tip. TouchPal 3.5 doesn't seem to play nice at all so I'm about to cook again without it. I'll confirm your thoughts.

Anyone have a comperable SIP to recommend? I've not found another that worked nearly as well for me. ZoomBoard is my next favorite, but only because it's fast and still larger (feeling anyway) than the MS KB.
