Have you tried a different .ROM folder from an earlier working build?

would i need to swap rom folder if it boots fine with 21731 xip?

OK try this:

http://www.4shared.com/file/11021643...21806_xip.html

I've included both the new bin and the dumped files/modules. See if it works.

this is what I use I found it on xda a while ago. put the xip.bin in the folder start XIPport.exe hit dump xip.bin, hit write maps, hit build pkgs. then go into the out folder. then folders and modules have the MSXIPKernel folder in them. add the appropriate files to each. then with xipport.exe press undo, press realloc P hit ok once or twice, then build xip_out.bin.

Do you have a PPCK SYS for the Titan?

Yep. try these:

SYS_21731_Common
http://www.4shared.com/file/1100.../SYS_21731_Common.html

SYS_21731_192DPI_0409
http://www.4shared.com/file/1102.../SYS_21731_192DPI_0409.html

SYS_21725_96DPI_0409
http://www.4shared.com/file/1081.../SYS_21725_96DPI_0409.html

Also, use this XIP instead. XipKitchen seemed to be having issues with the 21731 for some reason, so I said F*ck you to the Kitchen and manually ported these. These dump properly, so don't use the other XIP's I posted, I think they are bum.

Also, if these PPCK files b1tch about the IRDA guid, use the option.xml I posted below and overwrite the one in the Common rar.

UPDATE: YAY!!!! The Herman XIP booted! So my guess is that the Titan is good too. Please let me know!

I got a non-booter with the Titan I over wrote the option.xml like you said but it would not boot past the first boot screen.

Anryl posted a GN.rar file (from xbeta) several pages back. You need to rename the .BIN image to os.bin and then run the executable. Just search this thread for 'xbeta' and you will find it a few results down.

Hey, this is a humble suggestion/request to all people here: You guys seems to be making roms in a great rush with builds coming out almost everyday, without even trying to discus even a word about the noticeable changes in the builds, does this makes any sense? I think we should atleast have one post about each build's changes, preferably posted by the person who is posting the SYS/XIP. What do you guys think?

What do we lose using an 21728 XIP with a 21731 SYS file? What does the XIP file contain?

Thanks,

Most of these releases are missing one file or another. I've gotten to the habit of ovewritting the old build with the new build to fill in the blanks.

On an unrelated note: Is it just me or do these two new releases takes a LOOOOOT of RAM to run? I'm getting 20mb free on my Herald on a completely stripped ROM. (Unless it's one of the modules that I've changed on the OEM itself...)

Mainly coredll.dll which basically EVERYTHING uses. This is also where the version number is pulled from when you look at system info, so by using a 21728 XIP, that's what your version will say. There are also some other critical OS components in there as well, so it is always BEST to use the proper XIP, since some of the OS files may expecting something that an older XIP won't have.

Thank you for the information. Now I know.

I am installing a new ROM based on your newer 21731 xip. I will let you know if it works in a few minutes.

Nope, the new one did not work either. I am trying a build with the older 21728 XIP, but since the other poster said that one worked, I am sure mine will also.

Update: Yes, using the XIP from 21728 the phone boots fine.
